Sermon:

This week to prepare for the message on Elijah and God’s conversation in 1 King 19, read both 1 Kings 16-19 and James 5:13-18.

So Elijah was a faithful prophet of God that stopped the rain, was fed by birds, raised a kid from the dead, prayed a fireball down from the sky, killed 850 pagan priest in one day and ran faster than a cheetah. He was the closest thing the bible has to an avenger and yet, James says that Elijah’s prayers had great power and that he “was a man with a nature like ours…” This Sunday we will be unpacking why this is important for the people of God.
